| Description | The American Red Cross is looking for 1 volunteer to provide services from volunteering to capstone projects to support American Red Cross related to Coordinating the youth in the community to work with the local Red Cross.
Duties -Promote Volunteerism to involve youth with the Red Cross -Develop a peer education program -Develop a curriculum to increase young peoples knowledge and awareness of healthy behaviors. -Meet the mission of the Red Cross to help people prevent life-threatening emergencies. -Schedule and teach First Aid, CPR, AED, Babysitter’s and Basic First Aid courses for youth. -Measure outcome effectiveness through customer evaluations and by reaching program goals. -Develop and nurture innovative partnerships with local organizations serving targeted population. Qualifications -Experience working with youth and diverse communities. -Bilingual skills desirable (Somali, Hmong, and Spanish) -Ability to act as a Red Cross representative and role model. -Able to lift 20 pounds. -Have reliable transportation. -Demonstrated competencies in the following areas: detail orientation and organizational skills, flexibility, customer service, oral and written communication skills, and ability to work independently. -Experience in presenting and teaching. -Time commitment of 10-20 hours per week and a flexible schedule.
