Time: 10-12 Location: Morgan Middle School For this event volunteers will be working with middle school students, grade 6th - 8th. The premise of this program is to educate students on healthy living habits and to introduce them to new sports they may not be exposed to in a middle school setting. These sports could include cycling, fencing, lacrosse, rugby and others. We are also looking for football, basketball and soccer players as well. This is a great opportunity for volunteers to meet members of the Ellensburg community and to make connections with local schools. If you have played these sports for a long time and are interested in teaching younger Ellensburg students, this the the opportunity for you! Volunteers are asked to teach and demonstrate their sport in rotational sessions. Volunteers would be working directly with the students, leading the students in the sports activities. Our goal is to get the students excited about learning a new sport and help them to develop healthy habits. Volunteers are asked to bring the supplies and equipment they may need to teach the students about the sports. There should be about 7 students at each session. As much equipment that can be brought would be appreciated. Additionally, volunteers will need to use their own transportation. If you would like additional information, please contact Kelli MacLeod at takeaction@cwu.edu("ATTN Spring Sports Seminar" in the subject line). **This sponsor does not extend L&I Volunteer coverage to volunteers who may become injured, while performing under this agreement. |
